Teja Sajja’s latest venture, “Hanuman,” has kicked off to a promising start, with positive word of mouth emanating from its premieres. The credit is not only due to the charismatic lead but also extends to director Prashant Varma, who adeptly captures the devotional essence of Lord Hanuman, infusing it into an innovative script. Despite the seemingly mundane backdrop of a village, Varma’s skillful storytelling keeps the audience engaged and invested in the narrative.
One notable highlight of “Hanuman” is a hilarious scene in the first half, where Prashant Varma cleverly showcases Teja Sajja’s prowess through a comedic spoof. Drawing inspiration from iconic moments in Telugu cinema, the scene humorously references Mahesh Babu in “Athadu,” Pawan Kalyan in “Jalsa,” and Allu Arjun in “Aarya.” The standout moment, however, comes with a playful attempt to recreate a scene from Balakrishna’s film, “Palnati Brahmanayudu.”
The original Palnati Brahmanayudu scene had already become a subject of mockery, but “Hanuman” takes it a step further, injecting a sarcastic touch and turning it into a comical masterpiece. This particular scene, infused with wit and satire directed towards Balakrishna, had the audience in splits, adding an extra layer of entertainment to the film and solidifying its potential for widespread success.
