Guntur Kaaram Movie Review

“No spice to Ramana’s story, a tiresome commercial ride”

In attempting to portray Ramya Krishnan’s character as the sacrificing mother, the film’s unconventional plot takes a confusing turn, leaving the audience astounded during the latter half. Despite the 2 hours and 39 minutes of runtime, Mahesh Babu and Ramya Krishnan share only a few scenes, with the rest of the film seemingly duping viewers in the name of commercial appeal.

Trivikram Sreenivas, known for showcasing Mahesh Babu in various roles, disappoints with a lack of engaging moments throughout the film. The unnecessary inclusion of comedy fights to highlight Mahesh Babu in a mass avatar exemplifies the film’s flaws.

Even the efforts of music director SS Thaman fall short, as scenes lack the necessary support for impactful scoring. Sreeleela’s attempt to bring some relief to the cringy love story is noted, but Meenakshi Choudhary’s role feels out of place, with the build-up not living up to expectations.

The film’s demand for a ticket hike and special shows raises concerns, pointing towards an unfavorable outcome. Overall, the movie fails to meet expectations, with Mahesh Babu, the supposed lone warrior, losing impact as the story progresses.

Despite low expectations, the film proves to be Mahesh Babu’s weakest. Beyond the disappointment, the prospect of not seeing him on screen for the next two years adds to the dissatisfaction. A quick project to rectify these shortcomings seems necessary.

Note:* It’s a personal opinion. It will not be based on it’s film run or the talk on the other side.
