The state government’s petition against the AP high court giving bail to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu in skill development case is scheduled to come up before the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The AP high court on November 21 had granted regular bail to Chandrababu Naidu in the case. The state government opposed the bail and challenged it in the supreme court.
The AP high court gave bail to Chandrababu Naidu from November 29 as his interim bail ends on November 28. The court had earlier asked Chandrababu Naidu to report to the jail superintendent on or before November 28. However, in the latest judgement while granting the bail, the court directed Chandrababu Naidu to submit his medical reports to the Vijayawada ACB court on November 28.
The state government contested the bail stating that the high court ignored the facts while granting him bail. The state government also said that the high court had crossed its limits while commenting on the merits of the case.
The state government alleged that Chandrababu Naidu took money from the exchequer in the skill development case. The money was routed through various shell companies and finally it landed in the TDP accounts, the state government said.
The petitions are now before Justice Bela M Trivedi and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma bench of the supreme court.
Interestingly, Justice Trivedi heard Chandrababu Naidu’s skill development scam quash petition and reserved the judgment. He is likely to give his judgement on the quash petition. Another petition of Chandrababu Naidu in the fiber net case was posted to November 30.
It is to be seen what Justice Trivedi would decide on the three cases, which are heard by him. All cases are related to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu only.
