Gopichand Malineni’s Bollywood Debut Gets Green Light

Even after securing a hit with “Veera Simha Reddy” starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, director Gopichand Malineni found himself in an unexpected wait for his next project. He was initially slated to direct a film featuring Ravi Teja under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, with the project announcement including details about the music director. However, unforeseen complications arose, causing delays that were beyond Malineni’s control.

The anticipated collaboration with Ravi Teja fell through due to budget constraints and remuneration disagreements. These issues led to Ravi Teja stepping away from the project, leaving Gopichand in a state of limbo. The setback was significant, as the planned film had generated considerable buzz. Despite the challenges, Malineni remained patient and resilient, understanding that the right opportunity would eventually come his way.

Gopichand Malineni’s patience has indeed paid off, as he is now set to make his Bollywood directorial debut. He has successfully roped in Sunny Deol for an action entertainer, which will also be produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Whether this new project is the same script initially intended for Ravi Teja remains unclear. However, the announcement marks a significant milestone in Malineni’s career. Principal photography for the film is scheduled to commence on June 18th in Hyderabad, with additional shoots in Mangalore and Mumbai. Given Sunny Deol’s recent success with “Gadar 2,” this collaboration promises to be an exciting venture, blending South Indian directorial prowess with Bollywood star power.
