The film starts off with a bang, featuring two standalone introductions to Godzilla and Kong. It later delves into Kong’s journey, where he searches for hope and his family beneath the shallow earth, while Godzilla senses an impending massacre. These massive scenes are shot well, with great intensity, showcasing how the makers create drama with such monstrous characters. The interactions between Kong and the Small Kong are particularly intriguing.
However, the storyline involving Ilene Andrews and her team slightly takes the film off track, as the pace slows down. Nevertheless, the revelation that Jia holds the key to saving Kong’s family, along with the involvement of Godzilla and Mothra, leads to a massive last 30 minutes with stunning visual effects.
The standout moments of the film include the first face-off between Godzilla and Kong, where they eventually team up.
