Ghost is an Indian Kannada film featuring Shiva Rajkumar in lead role under the direction of MG Srinivas. Arjun Janya is the music composer. The film is produced by Sandesh Nagaraj under Sandesh Productions. Ghost is said to be the PAN India Project and its trailer was released in all 5 languages Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. The film was slated to release on Oct 19th coinciding with Dussehra however the telugu version got delayed citing theater availability as there were 3 other films Ravi Teja Tiger Nageswara Rao, Nandamuri Balakrishna Bhagavanth Kesari and Vijay Leo released on Oct 20th. When the telugu version of Ghost was postponed, Shiva Rajkumar fans got bursted and took it to social media by stating when Vijay film gets released smoothly along with other straight telugu films why not Ghost? Especially when Shiva Rajkumar role was acknowledged well in Tollywood with his cameo from BlockBuster Jailer.
The kannada version of Ghost received positive reviews from critics and opened with good talk. It also emerged as a notable success at the Box Office. However the same reception was not received in Tollywood. One of the reasons is the telugu version got delayed by 2 weeks and released on November 4th with less number of theaters. Another reason would be, Seems like the netizens already sensed about the OTT date for the film. These days most of the films are coming out on OTT platforms just within the 4 weeks of its theatrical release. The netizens guessed it right as they were expecting that the OTT date of the film is around the corner since the kannada version was released on Oct 19th. Despite the good talk, The netizens didn’t show up to the theaters.
As guessed by the viewers, There was an official announcement from Zee Studios regarding the Ghost OTT release date. It will be out on Nov 17th 2023.
