Gaami opens well in the US. Gaami, helmed by newcomer Vidyadhar Kagita and starring Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen in the lead role, has garnered widespread acclaim for its ‘unique’ narrative and impressive visuals despite facing some challenges. The film had a good craze among the audiences before the release, and the day 1 talk was also very encouraging. The film minted good numbers at the USA Box office, and the worldwide numbers are also reportedly good for the firm.
A segment of the audience seeking unconventional cinema has shown great appreciation for the film, which is why Gaami is enjoying a solid trend in the U.S., having raked in $246,787 as of 9 PM EST. The movie is poised to become Vishwak Sen’s highest-grossing film in North America and a profitable venture for the distributor, Shloka Entertainments. On the other hand, Premalu, the Telugu dubbed version of the recent Malayalam blockbuster supported by SS Rajamouli’s son, and Gopichand’s Bhimaa are struggling to make a mark at the box office on the first Friday.
While Premalu Telugu, a dubbed film, has managed to collect $16K, Gopichand’s Bhimaa had garnered only $14K by 9 PM EST. Understandably, a mass movie is not a primary option for moviegoers in the US, but the low numbers of Bhima suggest the film’s downward trend and Gopichand’s stardom in the market.
