Fighter nears its closing at the box office

t appears that the theatrical run for Siddharth Anand’s ‘Fighter’, which stars Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, is nearing its end. Expectations were high for this film because it was the director’s first since ‘Pathaan’ with Shah Rukh Khan, which became the third highest grossing film in Indian cinema. Fighter movie collected 343 Crores Gross at the worldwide box office and most probably the film has ended its box office run as the film failed to cross the 1 crore mark in India for the last four days.

Hrithik and Siddharth had previously given a blockbuster with ‘War’ in 2019. The failure of ‘Fighter’ was partly due to its plot focusing on fighter jet pilots, which had similarities to Tom Cruise’s ‘Top Gun: Maverick’. Furthermore, the India Vs Pakistan conflict seemed to be repetitive for the audiences. The film had many positive aspects, including the music, the new pairing of Hrithik and Deepika, and the sleek aerial action. The movie failed to connect with the masses significantly, which was evident in its box office numbers.

Fighter’s India Net for 29 days is 204 Crores, and the Gross will be 241 Crores. The worldwide Gross of the film stands at 343 Crores. Though the film, Fighter, made a good comeback and gathered decent collections at the box office, it surely underperformed for its content and expectations.
