Emergency: Kangana Ranaut’s Political Biographical Drama gets U/A Certificate

Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Emergency has been surrounded by controversies. The film faced problems during the censorship with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The board addressed the makers to make some cuts, and then only they would issue the censor certificate. This controversy led to the film getting postponed from the initial date, September 6, 2024. The latest good news is that the film’s problems have been cleared and it got the censor certificate.

Reportedly, Emergency has received a U/A Certificate from the CBFC. However, the film had a few cuts, and a few disclaimers have been added at required places. The film stars Kangana Ranaut as the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and she is also the director of the film. The film focuses on the period in which Indira served as Prime Minister of India. The film will show the events like her appointment to the declaration of emergency and her killing. As said above, CBFC halted the film’s censor and directed some scenes to be removed, which the film’s team did not agree. However, it is being said that a compromise has been done between both parties.

According to the inside reports, Emergency has been granted a U/A certificate by the CBFC. It is being said that the film’s team agreed to have three cuts along with multiple disclaimers at a few places. The details about which scenes were but have not been revealed yet. The new release date of Emergency will be announced soon.
