Producer TG Vishwa Prasad, recently making headlines for the decision to postpone Ravi Teja’s highly anticipated film “Eagle,” took the opportunity to shed light on the reasoning behind this move in a recent interview with iDream Media. Prasad clarified that the decision to withdraw from the Sankranti release race was not due to any issues related to theaters. Contrary to speculations, he revealed that the film’s shooting had been completed in October, and they were the first to announce the Sankranti release date back in August. With an impressive count of 280+ theaters at their disposal, the producer explained that their concern was overcrowding the festival with five simultaneous releases, potentially dividing the audience and adversely affecting all films involved. Choosing to step back was a strategic move to ease the competition for the benefit of all releases.
In the same interview, Vishwa Prasad went on to explain their promotional strategy for “Eagle.” He stated that they deliberately initiated the film’s promotional activities only after the release of Ravi Teja’s “Tiger Nageswara Rao.” The goal was to avoid confusion among the audience and ensure a clear focus on one film at a time. Furthermore, the producer shared exciting news about their upcoming project with Prabhas under the direction of Maruthi. Even though the film’s shoot has been ongoing for a year, Prasad emphasized their commitment to respecting the release schedules of Prabhas’ other projects. According to the producer, they follow a policy of commencing promotions for their hero’s movies only after the current film has been released, demonstrating their dedication to a well-thought-out and considerate marketing approach.
This insight into TG Vishwa Prasad’s decision-making process not only provides clarity on the postponement of “Eagle” but also highlights the producer’s strategic thinking and commitment to the success of their films in the competitive world of the film industry.
