Dunki Movie Review

“During the latter half of the film, Hirani compels spectators to make a U-turn in their decision to purchase tickets. It is not worth it”

While the first half of the film promises a few laughs and some stirring emotions, the latter half takes an unexpected turn. Despite a promising start, the film falters when Shah Rukh Khan, playing the protagonist, declares himself in front of the London Court, asserting no harm from his country. This pivotal moment marks the beginning of a significant downfall in the narrative.

As the story unfolds, it becomes apparent that the director attempts to engage the audience with the reuniting of aged characters who had struggled to reach London. Their return, this time with a reverse Dunki and a seemingly smart plan, lacks coherence, leaving the audience bewildered. The director’s decision to prolong the film feels like an endurance test, trying the patience of the spectators.

The last scene further adds to the confusion, culminating in an unclear message with a slight comic touch. Shah Rukh Khan and his team, after a hiatus adventure involving a couple of Dunkis, leave the audience with mixed emotions and unanswered questions.

Despite the film’s shortcomings, Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu deliver commendable performances. Surprisingly, the average audio track gains a new life when witnessed on screen, with all songs proving to be promising.

In summary, if you’re seeking entertainment, the film may be worth a watch. However, be prepared for a lengthy runtime that centers around a single point, dragged mercilessly until the end credits roll. Proceed with caution, ensuring you have other activities prepared to endure the film’s prolonged narrative.

Note:* It’s a personal opinion. It will not be based on it’s film run or the talk on the other side.
