Due to fear of losing, TDP encouraging violence, says Sajjala

YSR Congress general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Monday alleged that the opposition TDP was resorting to violence in several places across the state due to fear of losing the election. He said that the TDP leaders were encouraging violence in several places to disturb the polling.

He alleged that the TDP resorted to violence in Kuppam, Macharla, Tadipatri, Chittoor and Darsi Assembly constituencies. In Gangadhara Nellore and Visakhapatnam West Assembly constituencies, the TDP leaders have deployed bouncers to scare the YSR Congress workers. It was perhaps for the first time that the bouncers were deployed in any election, he said.

Sajjala asked the YSR Congress workers not to be provoked by the TDP activists. He wanted the YSR Congress workers to maintain restraint from the provocative activities of the TDP leaders.

Sajjala lodged a complaint with the Election Commission alleging violence by the TDP across the state. He further said that officials have failed to make arrangements at several polling stations. The aged and women were falling sick at the polling stations. He asked the election commission to take necessary steps to solve the problem.

Sajjala said that the YSR Congress is winning the election once again. The party would form the government once the results are declared. He said people are with the YSR Congress. They were not betrayed by the opposition TDP.
