Double Ismart, the latest mass entertainer, became a massive disaster at the box office. On August 15th, Puri Jagannadh and Ram Pothineni’s sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Ismart Shankar was released amidst a decent hype. The songs were average, and the trailer was decent, but a section of audiences was curious to see the film as it was a sequel. However, all the craze and hype faded out soon when the film was released in theaters and the talk came out.
Double Ismart had a slight edge on the opening day over its competitor, Mr. Bachchan. However, after that, even Ismart faced big drops in its collections. The film’s content was heavily criticized by audiences and critics. Many felt that Puri needs to re-invent his taking as he is constantly making routine action films with the backdrop of Mafia and police. Also, the comedy track of Ali in Double Ismart received a massive rejection, as everyone felt it was very absurd. As said above, because of the bad talk, the collections decreased from the matinee itself.
Double Ismart just crossed 12 crore gross at the worldwide box office. Along with Mr. Bachchan, Double Ismart is also in deficits already, and there will be no share from both films. Sadly, Independence Day, which was expected to be a huge money spinner for the makers and exhibitors, turned out to be a big disappointment.
