Since Tillu Square, the sequel to DJ Tillu, is releasing today, here’s my personal take on its first part, DJ Tillu.
DJ Tillu bursts onto the screen with an electrifying first half that keeps viewers hooked from start to finish. Lead actor Siddu Jonnalagadda shines throughout the film, exuding unparalleled swag and chemistry with the lead pair that adds an extra layer of charm. While the storyline may take a backseat, the sheer charisma of Siddu elevates the viewing experience to new heights. The music, courtesy of Sricharan Pakala and Ramiriyiala, along with the background score by SSThaman, serves as a major highlight, complementing the on-screen action seamlessly. With spot-on dialogues and a perfectly crisp runtime, DJ Tillu delivers on its promise of non-stop entertainment.
However, the film encounters a stumble in its otherwise exhilarating journey during the second half. From the pivotal scene in the hospital, Siddu Jonnalagdda’s character loses its momentum, derailing the narrative and leaving viewers yearning for the electrifying energy of the first half. The rushed climax and deviation from the initial murder mystery plotline only add to the disappointment, causing frustration rather than engagement. Despite its initial promise, DJ Tillu struggles to maintain its pace and direction, ultimately leaving audiences with a sense of unfulfilled potential.
In conclusion, DJ Tillu offers a mixed bag of entertainment, with a stellar first half overshadowed by a lackluster second half. While Siddu Jonnalagadda’s charismatic performance and the film’s overall energy keep viewers engaged, the abrupt shift in tone and pacing in the latter half detracts from the overall experience. While the sequel may hold potential for redemption, DJ Tillu falls short of its initial promise, leaving audiences with a bittersweet taste of what could have been.
