It has been 22 years since Dil Hai Tumhaara got released in theaters. Starring Rekha and Preity Zina in the main roles, the film was released in 2002 on this date. This romantic drama was directed by Kundan Shah, and it also had Alok Nath, Jimmy Shergill, Arjun Rampal, and Mahima Chaudhary in crucial roles. Though the film did not get the desired result at the box office, it gained good appreciation over the years with television telecast.
Preity Zinta even received nominations for the best actress award for her superb performance as Shalu. If you have not watched the film till now or if you want to watch and enjoy it once more, Dil hai Tumhaara is currently streaming on Prime Video and Shemaroo Me. The film’s music album, composed by Nadeem Shravan, was the sixth best-selling album of the year, as it sold nearly 20,000 units.
Dil Hai Tumhaara’s story focuses on Shalu, played by Preity Zinta, who does not know the fact that she is the daughter of his father’s second wife, and upon her father’s death, Rekha, the first wife of her father, adopted her reluctantly. Years pass, but still Shallu does not get the desired love from her mother, but she develops a great bond with her half sister Nimmi (Mahima Chaudhary). The biggest issue Shalu faces is when she learns that Nimmi also loves the man whom she loves. The rest of the story is about how Shalu wins her mother’s love as she decides to sacrifice her love for her sister.
