Dhanush’s Raayan locks its OTT Partner?

Raayan, a highly anticipated Tamil movie starring Dhanush, is set to be released soon. This film will be Dhanush’s second directorial project following Pa Paandi. The excitement among fans for the release of Raayan is palpable, making it one of the most awaited films in Tamil cinema this year. The film recently completed its censor formalities and obtained an A certificate. Raayan’s streaming platform has not been disclosed as of now. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that the movie will be accessible on SunNXT for a designated duration after its release.

Raayan boasts an ensemble of top-tier actors. Dhanush takes on the lead role, supported by Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, and Prakash Raj in significant roles. What sets this film apart is not just its star-studded cast, but also the fact that Dhanush himself is directing Raayan. This upcoming film will be his second directorial project after Pa Paandi. Despite reports claiming that Selvaraghavan wrote Rayaan, these have been refuted. Dhanush has penned the script for Raayan and it will be the first time he directs his brother and filmmaker Selvaraghavan. Raayan features music by AR Rahman and has been shot by cinematographer Om Prakash. The film has been edited by Prasanna GK, with backing from Sun Pictures.

Raayan has successfully completed its censorship formalities and has been granted an A certificate, indicating that the film is intended for adult audiences only. This marks the second film of Dhanush, following Vada Chennai, to receive such a certification. With a runtime of two hours and 25 minutes, Raayan is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 26, two weeks after the premiere of Indian 2. The film is expected to have a solo release without any major competition at the box office. Raayan is described as a gangster drama set in the northern suburbs of Chennai, where Dhanush portrays the character of a cook at a restaurant. As the story unfolds, the revelation of his mysterious past shocks those around him, exposing his hidden identity as a former gangster. Kalidas and Sundeep will portray the roles of Raayan’s brothers, while Dushara will play the character of his sister.
