Death Whisperer OTT release details

The Thai supernatural horror film, Death Whisperer (also referred to as Tee Yod), is an adaptation of Krittanon’s novel Tee Yod. Helmed by Thaweewat Wanta, this chilling cinematic experience premiered on October 26, 2023, in select theaters and went on to achieve the remarkable feat of becoming the 9th highest-grossing Thai film ever. Now, Death Whisperer is poised to make its debut on OTT platforms this summer.

The upcoming supernatural horror movie Death Whisperer is set to premiere on Netflix on April 10, 2024. This film is said to be inspired by a real-life story that first circulated online before being adapted into a novel. A trailer for the movie is already out, complete with English subtitles, giving viewers a sneak peek into the spine-chilling jump scares and eerie folklore the film has in store. Death Whisperer is set in a secluded village in Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand, in 1972. The unexpected and peculiar death of a young girl shakes the peaceful community, leaving everyone anxious and vigilant. Subsequently, similar incidents begin to unfold in the residence of a Thai Chinese farming family, which consists of the six main characters: three sons named Yak, Yos, and Yod, and three daughters named Yad, Yam, and Yee.

Upon falling ill, Yam experiences excruciating pain and drastic physical changes, leading to her stomach expanding like a balloon and blood flowing from every opening in her body until she meets a horrifying demise. Following a strange encounter with a ghostly woman on their way home from school, the three daughters call their eldest brother, Yak. Yak, a passionate army veteran, must now confront the ominous Tee Yod in a race against time to protect his family from a malevolent force. Despite Yak’s previous return before Tee Yod’s complete control, the situation’s urgency is palpable as time slips through his fingers. The fate of Yam and the entire family hangs in the balance, with the chilling conclusion set to unfold on April 10th, adding suspense to a summer evening.
