The police on Tuesday booked cases against TDP senior leader J C Diwakar Reddy family in Tadipatri of Anantapur district. Cases were booked against TDP Tadipatri Assembly candidate, J C Asmith Reddy, former MLA J C Prabhakar Reddy, former MLC Deepak Reddy and senior leader J C Pawan Reddy.They were accused of stone pelting on Tadipatri MLA Kethireddy Pedda Reddy convoy during polling on Monday. Five vehicles in the convoy were damaged while a couple of police constables were also injured in the incident.
The police started investigation into the case and registered an FIR against the JC family members. The police said that the JC family members and their supporters pelted stones at the MLA convoy without any provocation.The police said that the JC family members were present when the incident happened. Asmith Reddy and Prabhakar Reddy provoked their party activists to attack the MLA convoy, the police said.
The JC family members have been making provocative statements right from the beginning of the electioneering. They tried to attack the sitting MLA and the YSR Congress candidate Pedda Reddy during the campaign.It is now to be seen what steps that the police would take against the JC family in the incident.
