Kartik Aaryan, in a career-defining role, is all set to make his mark in the much-awaited film, Chandu Champion. The Bollywood star will portray the inspiring journey of Murilkant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, in Kabir Khan’s movie. The film, which is set to release on June 14, has already garnered significant attention. The filmmakers, in a special gesture, arranged a screening for Indian army officers and soldiers, which was attended by the real-life hero, Murlikant Petkar. The emotional impact of the film was such that it moved Petkar to tears.
During a conversation with the media, director Kabir Khan disclosed that Murlikant Petkar viewed Chandu Champion alongside the Chief of the Army. According to Khan, obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Army is essential when producing a film related to them. Furthermore, during the screening of Kartik Aaryan’s film, the movie deeply touched all the officers. Kartik disclosed that Murlikant was also moved to tears while watching Chandu Champion. “He (Murlikant Petkar) told me ‘tumne mujhe rula diya’ as he cried. It was a deeply emotional experience and left everyone speechless,” Aaryan stated. The actor emphasized that viewers will feel a lump in their throats when they see the film in theaters. “This is a movie that we are all extremely proud of, and it is a story that everyone should be aware of,” Kartik noted.
In the meantime, Kartik Aaryan significantly changed his role as Chandu Champion. The actor took to Instagram to share before-and-after pictures of his transformation. Alongside the photos, he expressed, “I went from having 39% body fat to 7% body fat! This journey of one and a half years has turned me from an ‘insomniac’ to a ‘fitness enthusiast.’ It’s a memorable experience for me, thanks to the inspiring life of Mr. Murlikant Petkar, a living legend. He strengthened me and reinforced my belief that if you can dream it, you can achieve it… nothing is impossible.”
