Kartik Aaryan’s film Chandu Champion performs moderately well at the box office. Nevertheless, the movie experienced a decline in revenue on the seventh day of its theater screening. Kabir Khan’s directorial work still has one more week to draw audiences to cinemas before Nag Ashwin’s highly anticipated sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD hits the big screen.
According to trade experts, the film ‘Chandu Champion’ has been a financial success, garnering a sum of Rs 2.50 crore on Thursday, June 20. This brings the total collection of the film to an impressive Rs 36.50 crore. Furthermore, it achieved a high 11.71% occupancy rate in the Hindi language category. Overall, Chandu Champion has proven its commercial viability, collecting 36.5 Crores Net and 43 Crores Gross at the Indian box office. The film takes inspiration from a true story that depicts the incredible and magical life of Murlikant Petkar, a soldier and athlete who achieved India’s first-ever Paralympic gold medal in 1972. His remarkable accomplishments and extraordinary journey to victory were kept hidden from the public until he embraced the recognition and respect he deserved.
The film’s director, Kabir Khan, earlier said that the initial release fell short of our collective expectations due to the overwhelming response received from the trailer and the song units that were released. Consequently, he said they anticipated a more promising opening, but unfortunately, it did not materialize as desired. In the meantime, prominent figures persist in expressing their admiration for the movie, which revolves around the remarkable journey of India’s inaugural Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar. Recently, Katrina Kaif viewed the film and took to social media to share her thoughts.
