Recently, news broke out that the highly anticipated movie “Vedaa,” featuring John Abraham and Sharvari in the lead roles and directed by Nikkhil Advani, is set to hit the theaters on August 15, 2024, coinciding with Independence Day. However, it seems that there will be a clash at the box office as “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, is also scheduled for release on the same day despite the rumors of its postponement. Adding to the competition, Akshay Kumar has joined the race with his upcoming film “Khel Khel Mein,” which is also slated for release on August 15.
T-Series’ official social media accounts have officially announced that the film, directed by Mudassar Aziz, will be released on Independence Day. In addition to Akshay, the comedy film will feature Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal in prominent roles. The creators aim to redefine the comedy-drama genre with Khel Khel Mein, offering an exceptional emotional journey. They assure that this upcoming film will captivate audiences and leave them craving for more. Fardeen and Aziz collaborate again in this movie, following their previous work together in Dulha Mil Gaya, marking Aziz’s directorial debut. Similarly, Akshay repeatedly teams up with Taapsee after their successful collaborations in Naam Shabana and Mission Mangal. Additionally, Akshay is working with Vaani for the second time since their previous project, Bell Bottom. However, recent reports suggest a potential delay in the release of Pushpa 2, although no official confirmation has been provided. According to insider rumors, the filming for Pushpa 2: The Rule was initially expected to conclude by the end of June, but it appears that an additional month may be required to complete the production.
In contrast, as per the reports, the movie Vedaa, featuring John, Sharvari, Abhishek Banerjee, and Tamannaah Bhatia, showcases a captivating storyline filled with exhilarating stunts and gripping action sequences. Vedaa marks the third collaboration between John and Nikkhil, who have previously worked together on Salaam-e-Ishq and Batla House.
