Blink receives an exceptional response on OTT

Nowadays, making a small film, releasing it in theaters, and making a successful one continues to pose a significant challenge for Kannada filmmakers. This challenge becomes even more daunting for a relatively new team with a small yet experimental film. The makers of the Kannada film Blink faced an uphill battle in securing theatrical screenings and maintaining its presence in cinema halls once positive word-of-mouth publicity started to spread. Following a successful 50-day run in theaters, Blink transitioned to OTT platforms, initially catering to international audiences and now making it accessible to viewers in India as well.

Blink, helmed by Srinidhi Bengaluru, features prominent roles for Vajradheer Jain, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, and Chaithra J Achar. The movie can now be viewed on Amazon Prime Video. Like other indie films exploring unique themes and innovative filmmaking techniques, it is receiving high praise from viewers. Several are expressing remorse for not catching it on the big screen.

Various comments were made about the movie, ranging from “A brilliant film” to “Pushing the boundaries of imagination and science,” “A captivating time travel story,” “An astonishing climax,” “A must-watch movie with a beautiful narrative,” “An exceptional plot, screenplay, and direction,” “We need more films like Blink,” and “Can be watched without any hesitation,” among others. Some Telugu audiences who watched the film also highly appreciated the film led by Dheekshith Shetty, but they also requested the makers to consider dubbing it in more languages. Currently, Blink is only available in Kannada with English subtitles.
