Black:  Jiiva and Priya Bhavani Shankar’s horror thriller locks its runtime

The latest horror thriller from Tamil cinema, Black, starring Jiiva and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead roles, is all set to be released this week. The film’s runtime and the plotline have been revealed. The interesting thing is that Black, the film, marks the first ever on-screen collaboration of Jiiva and Priya Bhavani Shankar.

Black, the film, is under two hours, with one hour and 58 minutes of runtime. Made as a horror thriller, the film tells the story of Vasanth and Aaranya, the lovely couple who move to their new row house to have privacy and a peaceful life. However, their marriage takes an unexpected turn because of a mysterious force that creates havoc in their happy life. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters worldwide on October 11, 2024, just a day after the release of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan.

The film is touted to be the official remake of Hollywood film Coherence, but the makers did not approve the original film’s name officially, albeit stating that it is a remake of an American film. Besdies Jiiva and Priya Bhavani Shankar, the film also stars Vivek Prasanna in an important role. Directed by Balasubramani KG, Black is produced by the Potential Studios production banner, which is known for films such as Maya, Maanagaram, Monster, Taanakkaran, and Irugapatru. Sam CS is the film’s music composer.
