Big Names Disappoint, Small Films Dominate

August 15th has been a very disappointing show at the Box Office, especially after a couple of notable commercial films, Mr. Bachchan and Double iSmart, featuring well-known casts, bombed at the Box Office. However, this downturn has provided relief for small films, which are now taking the front seat in the competition.

Both Aay and Committee Kurrollu, featuring fresh casts with new faces, are drawing audiences to theaters through strong word of mouth. Audiences these days prefer proper content with good humor rather than just sticking to star power, and the makers of Aay and Committed Kurrollu have effectively utilized this opportunity.

On the other hand, despite receiving decent reviews, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedha are struggling at the Box Office, while Stree 2 starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor is dominating Bollywood. Stree 2, the fourth installment of the Maddock Supernatural Universe, has maintained its high standard of filmmaking and is seeing a strong showing, with many screens reporting housefulls.
