Apoorv Singh Karki and Manoj Bajpayee collaborated once again for Bhaiyya Ji following the success of Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. However, the movie did not resonate well with the viewers. In contrast to their previous venture, which garnered praise from the public, Bhaiyya Ji received a mixed response upon its release. Consequently, Manoj’s 100th film had a sluggish start at the box office. Nonetheless, the film experienced a slight improvement in ticket sales on its second day.
Based on the data provided by box office trackers, Manoj Bajpayee’s revenge drama Bhaiyya Ji had an initial earning of Rs 1.30 crore. On the second day, the film managed to collect Rs 1.75 crore (according to early estimates). Due to the mixed responses received by Bhaiyya Ji, it is still being determined whether the movie will experience substantial growth in its box office collection. It is worth noting that Bajpayee’s film was released simultaneously with Chris Hemworth’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Mammootty’s Turbo. Manoj’s most recent film release, Joram, garnered a sum of Rs 40 lakh within the first week, as reported by a Bollywood box office portal, for those who may not be familiar with his work.
During the promotion of Bhaiyya Ji, Manoj Bajpayee discussed his experience of portraying a massy character in Apoorv Singh Karki’s Bhaiyya Ji. He expressed, “This is something completely new for me. Although I have played a rural hero in Ram Gopal Varma’s Shool, it was within the realm of realism. Bhaiyya Ji, on the other hand, is my first film where I fully embrace the masala hero-giri genre.” In terms of his recent work, Manoj Bajpayee had one release on an OTT platform this year. He reprised his role as ACP Avinash Verma in Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout, the sequel to Aban Bharucha Deohans’ film Silence… Can You Hear It?. The movie premiered on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium, featuring Manoj alongside Prachi Desai, Vaquar Shaikh, and Sahild Vaid.
