Several Ministers from the AP cabinet on Saturday demanded that the yellow media should be banned from the presence of the people in the state. They blamed the media for not carrying the unveiling of Dr B R Ambedkar Statue event. The ministers said that the yellow media did not show the event in their electronic media channels.
Minister for Tourism, R K Roja, said that the yellow media had insulted Dr Ambekar by blocking the event. She said that the yellow media did not show the unveiling of the statue by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. She further alleged that the media had completely blocked the event and thus insulted Dr Ambedkar. She asked the people of the state to ban the yellow media from the state.
Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Adimulapu Suresh, blamed the media for not covering the event. He said that the media had completely ignored the event which was witnessed by lakhs of Dalits and Minorities in the state. The blocking of the event by the media was a great insult to the people who wanted to watch it from their homes. He termed the yellow media’s decision to block the event was another form of untouchability and a great insult to Dr Ambedkar.
Minister for Information and Public Relations, Chelluboyina Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna, said that the yellow media had crossed all the limits and boycotted the unveiling of the statue. He wondered how they could block such a big event that was witnessed by a few lakh of people and watched by a few more lakhs of people across the Telugu states.
The Ministers made an appeal to the people to ban and boycott the yellow media. They said that the yellow media was showing the lies of Chandrababu Naidu. They have become the pamphlets of the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu, the Ministers said.
They said that the people from the SC, ST, BC and Minorities communities have celebrated the occasion across the state. Ambedkar followers across the world have also celebrated the event, they said and regretted that the yellow media did not show the event because of their political affiliation to the Telugu Desam Party.
