Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s film Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha had a disappointing start at the domestic box office, with Sacnilk reporting that the movie only earned Rs 2 crore on Friday. Despite the inclusion of a Buy One Get One (BOGO) promotion, the film failed to attract a larger audience. Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha struggled to gain momentum even with the discount. Preliminary estimates indicate that Neeraj Pandey’s love drama made Rs 2.15 crore on the second day, bringing the total earnings for the movie to over Rs 4 crore.
Ajay Devgn experienced a remarkable and prosperous year in 2024, as Shaitaan surpassed 150 crore in box office collections, and Maidaan achieved 50 crore despite facing numerous challenges, eventually grossing 55 crore. However, because of its trailer and promotional material, AMKDT was expected to be a slow starter at the ticket windows. Everyone understood that this was not a commercial potboiler or a thriller. The film is an emotional drama, and audiences like to see this kind of film in OTT rather than Theaters.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha also stars Saiee Manjrekar, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Jimmy Sheirgill. This musical love story unfolds between 2002 and 2023, presenting an epic romantic drama spanning two decades. Initially scheduled for release on July 5, it was set to compete with the action film Kill, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat. However, it was postponed to August 2nd. Box office analysts are optimistic that Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha will garner favorable responses, allowing it to build momentum throughout the week and achieve a respectable box office performance.
