The OTT premiere of Aranmanai 4, the latest Tamil film featuring actor-filmmaker Sundar C as both the lead actor and director, is scheduled to take place soon. The horror comedy will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar starting from June 21, as announced by the streaming platform on social media. This movie marks the fourth installment in the horror comedy film series developed by Sundar C. It premiered in cinemas on May 3 and received a predominantly positive response from both critics and audiences, along with achieving success at the box office. According to the creators, the movie grossed Rs 100 crore, becoming the first Tamil film of the year to reach this milestone.
Following its theatrical run, the movie is now preparing for its digital release. It is set to debut on Disney+ Hotstar on June 21, offering viewers the option to stream it in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The movie centers on a lawyer from Chennai who receives distressing news about his runaway sister and her family. He decides to visit her village to investigate, only to discover the presence of a malevolent spirit, Baak, which feeds on human flesh.
Each installment of the Aranmanai franchise stands on its own as a separate film, featuring a unique storyline and cast. The upcoming Aranmanai 4 boasts an impressive ensemble, including Sundar C, Tamannaah, Raashii Khanna, Santhosh Pratap, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Delhi Ganesh, Kovai Sarala, and others. In a previous interaction with the media, Sundar C shared, ” While traveling to Bombay, two young girls asked me about Aranmanai 4. Considering it as a sign from above and a solution to my indecisiveness, I decided to take on Aranmanai 4. As of now, I am uncertain about the possibility of Aranmanai 5; only Aranmanai 4 will determine its fate.” Now, looking at the big success of Aranmnai 4, it is inevitable that the director will come up with the 5th installment in the successful series sooner or later.
