ANR’s 100-Year Tribute: 10 classics Screenings Announced

Akkineni Nageswara Rao has been one of the main pillars of the Telugu Film Industry. The legendary actor is known for his many distinct roles and as a visionary who dedicated his entire life to cinema. From being discovered at a railway station to establishing studios that have become go-to options for shootings and post-production, his impact is immeasurable.

Even during his battle with health issues, ANR continued to contribute to the film industry. His final film, Manam, was a touching tribute where all generations of the Akkineni family came together on screen. Fulfilling his last wish, he personally dubbed his own voice for the film, refusing to let anyone imitate him. He even arranged for dubbing facilities at his residence, ensuring his voice remained authentic.

As a tribute to his legacy on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary this September 20th, 10 of his classic films will be re-released with limited shows between September 20th and 22nd. The theatre listings have been updated, and the following films are set to be screened:

6. Doctor Chakravarthy (1964)
7. Sudigundalu (1968)

10. Manam (2014)

This special tribute serves as a celebration of his life and a gift for his devoted fans.
