Animal Drama Continues: Kiran Rao Responds to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Comments About Her and Aamir Khan

Kiran Rao has reacted to filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s recent comments about her critique of misogyny in cinema. Rao is awaiting the release of her film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, while Vanga is known for directing ‘Arjun Reddy’ and ‘Kabir Singh’.

In an interview, Rao clarified that she has never commented on or criticized Vanga’s films directly, as she hasn’t watched them. She stated she has only spoken about misogyny and women’s representation in films in general at various platforms. Rao added she doesn’t know why Vanga assumed she was targeting his movies specifically.

Previously, Vanga had hit back at Rao asking her to look at Aamir Khan’s problematic films first before criticizing others. Responding to this, Rao lauded Khan for being one of the few who has apologized for past problematic aspects in his work. She cited Khan’s apology for the song ‘Khambe Jaisi Khadi Hai’ as an example.

Rao further added that if Vanga has an issue with Khan’s work, he should address it directly with him. She reiterated she is not responsible for Khan’s films and Vanga should not drag her into it.

Following Rao’s latest response, Vanga’s production house hit back again denying they made any assumptions about her comments targeting their director’s films. The feud between the two film personalities continues to escalate. It remains to be seen if Vanga will directly address Khan regarding Rao’s critique of misogyny in cinema.
