The senior leaders of the BJP have held a secret meeting in Vijayawada party office on Wednesday. Sources say that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu played a key role in denying the party tickets for senior BJP leaders from Andhra Pradesh.
The yellow media is giving leaks that C M Ramesh, Y S Chowdary, Purandheswari, Y Sathya Prasad are the MP candidates. All these leaders have been loyal to Chandrababu Naidu. They speak for the TDP chief, and they do politics for Chandrababu Naidu. Giving these names and tickets to them would be giving tickets to the TDP leaders as well, the party senior leaders observed.
The party leaders are also fuming at the TDP chief for denying the party tickets to seniors like Somu Veerraju, G V L Narasimha Murthy, P Vishnuvardhan Reddy, is part of Chandrababu Naidu’s conspiracy, the senior leaders say. The senior leaders also observe that Chandrababu Naidu would also play key role in deciding who should contest from where from the BJP.
The senior leaders are not happy with the involvement of Chandrababu Naidu in the internal affairs of the BJP. They expressed concern over the BJP senior leaders from Delhi for accepting every proposal of Chandrababu Naidu.
The senior leaders are also not happy with the party leadership for settling down for just 10 Assembly seats. They feel that the BJP leadership should have asked for more seats as the BJP is the strongest party in the country.
The senior BJP leaders are finding fault with Chandrababu Naidu for the alliance as he hurled abuses at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in the 2019 general elections. Naidu had also aligned with the Congress during the 2019 general election and had helped the Congress to come to power in Telangana in the 2023 general election.
They believe that Chandrababu Naidu is not a trustworthy leader to be banked. They say that the TDP leaders would not transfer their votes to the BJP in the elections. The TDP would also encourage rebels in the elections and thus contribute for the defeat of the BJP, a trait that Chandrababu Naidu is known for, they say.
With all these internal conflicts, it is to be seen how the BJP leaders from Adhra Pradesh would help the TDP win the elections.
