Filmmaker Priyadarshan has recently confirmed his collaboration with Akshay Kumar once again. After a gap of 14 years, the director-actor duo is coming together for a new film. Their previous venture was the movie Khatta Meetha. Fast forward to the present, they will be working on a horror comedy this time. However, it is important to note that this project differs from their 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Akshay’s upcoming project with Priyadarshan is a horror fantasy comedy that revolves around the theme of black magic. The latest update reveals that the makers are currently considering Alia Bhatt, Keerthy Suresh, and Kiara Advani for the female lead role.
Based on internal sources, Priyadarshan’s film reportedly features a compelling storyline centered around the female lead character. This is why the director is searching for a talented individual who can confidently share the screen with Akshay Kumar. According to a source, the makers have approached Alia, Keerthy, and Kiara. Discussions are taking place, and the final decision will depend on their response to the script, dates, and remuneration availability. If Alia agrees, it will be her first time collaborating as a leading lady with Akshay in her 12-year career.
Akshay Kumar’s upcoming project with director Priyadarshan is set to commence filming in December 2024, as per the tabloid. The initial shooting schedule will occur in London on December 8, followed by the locations of Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. This horror fantasy comedy is said to be a grand production, with elaborate sets designed by art director Sabu Cyril and cinematography by Santosh Sivan. According to a source, the shoot will be conducted continuously and is expected to conclude in February 2025. In the meantime, Akshay Kumar has multiple films lined up for release this year, including Sarfira with Radhika Madan, Sky Force with Veer Pahariya, and Welcome to the Jungle featuring an ensemble cast. His most recent appearance was in the film Bade Miyan Choye Miyan.
