Narne Nithiin, who made his debut with the comedy blockbuster MAD, came before audiences with Aay, a rural backdrop entertainer, on this Independence Day weekend. The film was released in theaters worldwide on August 16, 2024, and it premiered on August 15th evening. It got a positive response from audiences and reviewers and went on to become a good hit at the box office. Aay is now streaming on OTT.
Though the film faced heavy competition with films like Thangalaan, Mr. Bachchan, and Double Ismart, still managed to score decent numbers at the box office with its entertaining content and positive talk. Written and directed by Kanchipally Anji Babu, the film stars Narne Nithiin and Nayan Sarika in the lead roles, while Ankith Koyya and Rajkumar Kasireddy played the supporting roles. Netflix, the popular OTT platform, has bagged the film’s digital rights, and Aay is now available for streaming on it.
Aay is made as a rural entertainer with a slight emotional touch in the core plot. Though the film deals with concepts like caste discrimination and its effects on youth, it was narrated entertainingly. Vinod Kumar, the veteran actor, played the hero’s father role, and his performance in the climax received superb reactions.
