In 2024, the Bollywood box office witnessed three significant letdowns: ‘Merry Christmas,’ ‘Fighter,’ and ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.’ While these failures are noteworthy, what indeed raises concern is the absence of any star film throughout the remainder of the year. Though Fighter and TBMAUJ have gathered decent numbers at the box office, the collections of both films have not met the expectations of trade circles.
The year 2023 saw several blockbuster films such as Jawan, Tiger 3, Animal, and others were released. This year also marked the return of Bollywood’s iconic figure, Shah Rukh Khan, who delivered three significant hits, including “Pathaan,” “Jawan,” and “Dunki.” Additionally, Salman Khan made a triumphant comeback with his highly successful film “Tiger 3.” However, according to the latest reports, it is now anticipated that in 2024, no movie will be released by any of the three Khans of Bollywood, namely SRK, Aamir, and Salman.
Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar are the sole actors with upcoming releases, while other dubbed films must make a significant impact to compete in Bollywood this year. Ajay Devgn’s Singam Again will be regarded as the most essential film for Bollywood this year. The film has a massive star cast of Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh, and Akshay Kumar. Akshay and Tiger Shroff also starred together in Bade Miya Chote Miya, which is set to be released on April 5, 2024.
