Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan had been a part-time politician for all these years. Ever since he launched the party in 2014, Pawan Kalyan had been playing a part-time role in politics with engaged fully in film shootings.
He often comes to Andhra Pradesh to do politics. Living in Hyderabad (Telangana state), Pawan Kalyan wants political power in Andhra Pradesh. He has his Aadhar card in Hyderabad, his residence in Hyderabad and his vehicles registered in Telangana. But he is aspiring for power in Andhra Pradesh.
He spends his weekends in Andhra Pradesh doing politics. He addresses his party workers and leaders during his weekend stay here. Once the weekend is over, he goes back to Telangana and does his film works there.
Even after having tied-up with the TDP in the state for the 2024 general election, Pawan Kalyan continues to be a weekend politician in the state. Even now, he is camping in Kakinada for this weekend. He is talking to his party leaders and workers, convincing them for alliance with the TDP.
Most of his Jana Sena leaders are not happy with Pawan Kalyan for aligning with the TDP and seeking only a handful of Assembly seats in alliance. They want the Jana Sena chief to ask for more than 50 Assembly seats from the TDP.
However, neither Pawan Kalyan is ready to ask for so many seats nor TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is ready to give them those seats. It would be just an alliance of convenience for both the parties. Moreover, Chandrababu Naidu, who is also doing weekend politics in Andhra Pradesh, knows that Pawan Kalyan is not worth more than 25 Assembly seats.
It is to be seen where these weekend politicians end up once the bell rings for the general election in February-March 2024.
Wherever the two leaders and their parties stand after the alliance, the big question is whether Pawan Kalyan would ever become a full-time politician or not! Because the entire Kapu community and the Jana Sena leaders want to see him as a full-time politician doing politics in Andhra Pradesh, without any diversions or his engagements in other activities, including films.
