Samsung is set to enhance its Care+ protection plans in the US by offering unlimited battery repairs starting in May. This new feature will be included in both the Care+ and Care+ with Theft and Loss tiers, offering added value to customers. However, there are a few conditions to note. The plans will become $2 more expensive per month, and to be eligible for a battery repair, the device’s battery health must be at 79% or lower, as indicated by a diagnostic test. Additionally, there should be no additional damage to the covered device for the repair to be applicable.
The monthly cost of Samsung Care+ and Samsung Care+ with Theft and Loss varies depending on the device, ranging from approximately $8 to $18 per month with a three-year contract. With the inclusion of unlimited battery repairs, the price will increase to around $10 to $20 per month from May. Samsung Care+ offers coverage for unlimited repairs, drops and spills, mechanical breakdown after the first year, and $29 screen repairs. It also provides next business day replacements, 24/7 expert support, and convenient mail-in repair and replacement services, ensuring that genuine Samsung parts are used by Samsung-certified technicians.
For an additional fee, Care+ with Theft and Loss provides coverage for theft and loss of phones, tablets, and watches, while the standard Care+ plan is also compatible with Samsung PCs and true wireless earbuds. This enhancement to the Care+ plans demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to providing comprehensive and reliable protection for its customers’ devices.
