Pawan hits at TDP on breaking alliance dharma

It looks like all is not well between the TDP and the Jana Sena. The two parties have differences over seat sharing. They are fighting within, and the fight was visible during the Republic Day celebrations. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is not comfortable with the TDP leaders, if one reads between the lines of what Pawan Kalyan said at the party office.

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Friday expressed serious concern over the TDP breaking the alliance dharma. He said that the TDP is going against the alliance dharma by announcing the party tickets to its leaders.

Speaking at the party office during the Republic Day celebrations, Pawan Kalyan said that the TDP had announced Araku and Mandapet Assembly seats without saying a word to the Jana Sena. He said that the two parties were in alliance and talks were on in sharing the seats. He wondered how the TDP could announce the seats without the two parties coming for an understanding.

He also announced two seats – Razole and Rajanagaram – from the Jana Sena. He said that the Jana Sena would contest these two seats in the coming elections. It was a tit for tat and wanted the TDP leaders to understand the coalition politics.

Pawan Kalyan also took exception to TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh stating that his father N Chandrababu Naidu would be the chief minister. He said that talks were inconclusive and wondered how Lokesh could make such an announcement.

He said that if the TDP is under pressure for the party tickets and Chandrababu Naidu is uder pressure, I am also under pressure. He said due to pressure from the party cadre and the leaders, he was announcing the two seats without consulting the TDP. He said that the Jana Sena would contest these two seats and would take them from the TDP in alliance.

He tendered an open apology to the party cadre stating that he remained silent when Lokesh announced that his father would be the chief minister. He said he understood the pressures that the TDP leaders were having. He claimed that he was also under pressure from the rank and file of his party.
