Krish (Sree Vishnu), Vinay (Priyadarshi), and Madhav (Rahul Ramakrishna), three friends who are fraudsters, and come up with the idea of Bang Bros for profit. They enter a village named Bhairavapuram and successfully establish a good name among the people. Due to a few incidents, they take a challenge of entering Sampangi Mahal, an abandoned and haunted palace, to find the treasure, become wealthy, and also to persuade Krish’s love interest, Jalaja’s father. The rest of the story is how the trio be able to find the treasure in Sampangi Mahal and its backstory as well.
Sree Vishnu, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna fit perfectly their characters and provide the required fun. Mainly, Sree Vishnu is able to convey the body language, and the appeal of his character is enhanced by the way he delivers dialogue. Overall, he does a superb job. Preity Mukundan was fine, while Ayesha Khan did not have much scope to perform. Racha Ravi, Aditya Menon and others were fine.
Harsha Konuganti’s Om Bheem Bush has a simple idea with a nice twist at the end. The director injects a supernatural element into the product, which creates a new appeal. The film starts with the introduction of Sampangi Mahal, and enters into the regular comedy space. The initial twenty minutes seem routine, but things get interesting from the minute when the scene shifts to ‘Bhairavapuram’ as comedy works well with the idea of ‘Bang Bros.’ The latter half largely happens in the Sampangi Mahal where the comedy is mixed with horror theme and a good message at the end.
The film has hilarious moments, and it also has freshness as supernatural elements are attached to the story. The impact of one-liners with full of references to popular film dialogues and social media memes resonate well with the audiences. The biggest plus point for the film is the casting of three leads, Sree Vishnu, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna, and they carry the entire film on their shoulders.
The majority of the second half takes place in Sampangi Mahal and centers on three characters who got stuck in an unexpected situation. Even though there are hilarious scenes in this segment, there is also a bit of lag, which adds to the boredom for a while. The proceedings look repetitive at a point in the film.
