Following its tremendous success at the box office, the film Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire, starring Rebel Star Prabhas and directed by KGF Fame Prashanth Neel, has recently made its debut on Netflix, and received a superb response from OTT audiences. The film started streaming on Netflix on January 20th in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The Hindi version was not released because, generally, Hindi films have an eight-week gap between the theatrical and OTT releases.
Recently, Netflix has also released the English version of Salaar, and there is great anticipation for its reception in the West. However, fans from North India, known for their love of action movies, are still eagerly awaiting the release of Salaar’s Hindi version.
However, the streaming giant Netflix has yet to make any official announcements regarding the OTT rights for the Hindi version, and there has been no mention of it in their social media promotions. We will have to wait a little longer, at least for a week or two, to get the news of Salaar’s Hindi version. In the meantime, viewers from North India will have to enjoy the action-packed drama in other languages.
Set in the fictional dystopian city-state of Khansaar, ‘Salaar: Part One — Ceasefire’ follows the friendship between Deva (Prabhas) and Varadha Raja Mannar (Prithviraj).
Salaar features a stellar cast, including Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tinnu Anand, Jagapathi Babu, Easwari Rao, and Bobby Simha in crucial roles. Ravi Basrur has provided the music for Hombale Films’ high-profile pan-Indian film.
