Unlike traditional foldables that open up like a book, this concept attaches to your wrist via a strap accessory, transforming from a smartphone into a wearable device.
When unfolded, the concept resembles a regular smartphone with a 6.9-inch display diagonal, providing a familiar user experience. The standalone strap uses magnets to securely attach the concept to your wrist, offering a convenient way to carry it around.
Bending the concept device is surprisingly sturdy, with a satisfying feel as it folds outward. It features a stop point to prevent over-folding, ensuring durability. However, there’s a slight concern about the magnets holding the device on the wrist, as it may come off with a strong bump.
The UI of the adaptive display concept is designed to recognize when the device is in wrist mode, displaying a large clock widget on the upper part of the screen. While the interface is side-swipeable, it is limited, offering widgets rather than full apps, and many widgets are not optimized for the half-screen display.
