Leaked Render Reveals A Major Change IN Nothing Phone (2a)

The upcoming Nothing Phone (2a) has been leaked in what appears to be an official press render, giving us a first look at the device’s design. Unlike the Phone (1) and (2), the render surprisingly shows no LED interface for Nothing’s signature Glyph design on the transparent back panel.

The render reveals the Phone (2a) will sport a transparent glass back similar to its predecessors, but without a wireless charging coil visible. The dual camera setup is placed in the top left corner.

Previous rumors have hinted at some of the Phone (2a)’s expected specs. It is likely to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the Phone (2a) could be powered by a Dimensity 7200 chipset paired with 8/12GB of RAM and 128/256GB internal storage options.

For photography, the device is tipped to offer a dual rear camera setup comprising 50MP primary and depth sensors. The front may house a 16MP selfie shooter.

The Phone (2a) is expected to launch at a price point between ₹25,000-₹30,000. This would make it significantly more affordable than the Nothing Phone (1), which debuted at ₹33,000.

With a toned down Glyph interface and mid-range specs, the Phone (2a) seems to be aimed at consumers looking for a more accessible smartphone experience. Nothing found immense success with the value-flagship proposition of the Phone (1). It is likely aiming to replicate that in the mid-range segment with the upcoming 2a.

By ditching some flagship-level features like wireless charging, the company seems to be keeping costs low. A sub-₹30,000 price tag could make the Phone (2a) a compelling option in India’s competitive mid-range market.

It remains to be seen if a Glyph-less design will appeal to fans of Nothing’s iconic glowing back panel. Nevertheless, the Phone (2a) could shake up the industry if it manages to deliver good hardware and software at an aggressive price point. More details are expected to surface as we inch closer to an expected launch later this year.
