Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is officially aligned with the BJP in the two Telugu states. He had even contested the Telangana Assembly elections in eight Assembly seats. Though he lost the deposits, he campaigned with the BJP leaders in alliance.
Now, ahead of the 2024 general elections to the State Assembly in Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan is moving close to the TDP. He is likely to go with the TDP in alliance. TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had met Pawan Kalyan at the latter’s house and held talks for over 2 hours.
The two leaders are also scheduled to address the closing meeting of Nara Lokesh’s Yuva Galam padayatra on December 20. They are also likely to announce a joint manifesto and come up with a common minimum agenda to defeat the ruling YSR Congress in the coming elections.
But the problem here is that it was only the other day BJP AP unit president Daggubati Purandheswari said that they are in alliance with the Jana Sena. She said that the Jana Sena party is with the BJP so far and there was no communication from the party whether it would continue the alliance or break.
Pawan Kalyan is keeping the BJP leaders in guessing over the alliance. Pawan Kalyan promised some time ago that he would convince the BJP leaders to have alliance with the TDP too in Andhra Pradesh. He wanted the anti-government vote to remain intact so that the YSR Congress could be defeated. He wants the state to be freed from the YSR Congress.
One wonders whether Pawan Kalyan is playing games with the BJP and the TDP as he is going with the two parties. He did not break the alliance with the BJP. But had built up the alliance with the TDP. The BJP is not making any statement whether they would also align with the TDP or not.
The TDP too is not making any statement whether the alliance is only with the Jana Sena or they will have alliance with the BJP too!
