Chiranjeevi’s iconic film Indra, a standout in his career, is set for a grand re-release this August 22nd in celebration of his birthday. Despite initial reports suggesting the event might be called off, the producers have confirmed that the film will indeed hit the screens. They have also released fresh bytes of the lead pair, Chiranjeevi and Sonali Bendre, reminiscing about their time working together during the film’s production.
Even with new releases on the horizon, Indra’s re-release is being planned on a massive scale, with an impressive number of shows scheduled, much like Mahesh Babu’s recent re-release of Murari. However, the question remains: will Indra surpass Murari in terms of box office performance and audience turnout?
Based on pre-bookings, it appears that Indra is falling short of Murari’s success. Except for a few specific theatres, Indra’s shows are seeing modest interest, unlike Murari, which quickly filled up. This suggests that not everything goes according to plan. While Indra might have been a blockbuster during its original release and holds a stronger legacy than Murari, in the re-release arena, Mahesh Babu seems to have the edge over Chiranjeevi.
