Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming film Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, was the first film announced for a December release on the occasion of Christmas 2024. However, circumstances have since changed, and the release date of the film is now uncertain, depending on the completion of the shoot and the availability of dates amid other big films locking their slots for December.
Currently, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule and most likely Ram Charan’s Game Changer have staked their claim on the December release window, with one set to release in the first week and Game Changer expected to close out the year. This has created uncertainty around the release of Thandel.
During the promotions of Aay, producer Bunny Vaas was approached by the media with questions regarding the release of Thandel. He responded that the film is currently undergoing shooting with VFX work being utilized for a ship sequence. He added that once the shoot is wrapped up, they will announce the release date. Vaas also mentioned that release dates are no longer solely in the hands of the producer, as they require discussions with various stakeholders before settling on a final date.
