On this Independence Day, Puri Jagannadh – Ram Pothineni’s Double Ismart and Ravi Teja – Harish Shankar’s Mr. Bachchan were released in theaters amidst a good amount of expectations in trade circles and audiences as well.
Mr. Bachchan makers had arranged paid premieres on August 14th, which turned into a terrible decision. The movie received unanimous negative talk, and that response impacted the day 1 numbers. On the other hand, Double Ismart had comparatively better performance at the box office on its first day. However, even this film failed to get good talk and saw a decline in the numbers from evening shows.
Both the films collected poor numbers on their first day, and crashed on the second day. What’s more surprising is, despite being new releases, Double Ismart and Mr. Bachchan are now listed in the hourly ticket sales of Bookmyshow. Double Ismart is expected to collect around 15 crore worldwide share in it’s closing, while Mr. Bachan will not even reach double-digit share. Sadly, what could have been a great weekend at the box office turned out to be a disastrous one for both the films.
