On April 19, Yuva, the first film of Yuva Rajkumar, the newest addition to the Rajkumar family, was released on OTT. Hombale Films, the production company, had already sold the streaming rights to Amazon Prime Video before the release, allowing Yuva to be streamed as early as the third week of its theatrical release. However, the Santhosh Ananddram-directed film was only available for rent at Rs 349 for both subscribers and non-subscribers of the platform. The most recent update is that Yuva will be available to regular subscribers starting April 26.
Yuva Rajkumar’s film, Yuva, hit the big screens on March 29 and received harsh criticism for its uninspiring storyline. Although Yuva Rajkumar’s dancing and action abilities were commendable, his acting skills received different praise. Directed by Santhosh Anandrram, the movie portrayed Yuva Rajkumar as a college student and a talented wrestler whose aspirations are shattered when he is accused of accepting bribes to manipulate a match. During his suspension from the sport, Yuva resorts to drinking and engaging in altercations with fellow students. Yuva must rise to the occasion when his family encounters a personal tragedy, taking on the responsibility of caring for his mother and sister. Meanwhile, he navigates through their challenges with the support of his coach, who is determined to restore Yuva’s reputation and give him another chance at achieving the success he is worthy of. The movie features music by Ajaneesh B Loknath and includes talented actors such as Sapthami Gowda, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Achyuth Kumar, Sudharani, and Hitha Chandrashekar.
Yuva Rajkumar has yet to reveal his upcoming project despite expressing his interest in working with Santhosh and Hombale Films once more. There were earlier speculations about the actor signing a three-film contract with the production house, but he has not verified this information. It was anticipated that he would announce his next film on his birthday, April 23, but that did not happen.
