Siddhant Chaturvedi’s first stint in the action genre, Yudhra, was released in theaters on September 20, 2024. The film is struggling to get going at the box office because of mixed reviews from audiences and critics. Though the film’s opening day collections were good, Yudhra saw a big drop in its numbers from the second day, and it is not showing any hints of some sort of jump going forward.
Yudhra was released on the occasion of National Cinema Day, where ticket prices were as low as Rs 99 in the National Multiplexes. So taking advantage of that, Yudhra started its box office journey with a 4.5 crore net in India, but it saw more than 50% drop on the second day, as it could only gather 1.5 crore on Saturday. However, the Sunday numbers showed a slight jump, with a number of 2.5 cr. But the film saw a big crash on Monday, and it collected a meager amount of Rs 75 lakhs net, which takes the total net collection to 9.6 crore and gross collection to 11 crore.
Yudhra now has no chances of getting any jump from here on, as it will face NTR-Koratala Siva’s Pan Indian action drama, Devara, scheduled to be released on September 27, 2024. As the majority of the screens will go to Devara, Yudhra will find it difficult to produce considerable footfalls, and it also has another competitor in the form of Stree 2, the horror comedy blockbuster, which is still attracting audiences towards the theaters after collecting a whopping number of 600 crore.
