Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the political parties should have credibility among the people. Addressing a meeting of the party MLAs, MLCs, regional coordinators, district unit presidents and mandal level leaders at Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Tuesday, Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the opposition parties have lost the credibility.
The chief minister said that the TDP in 2014 elections had released a manifesto promising total loan waiver to the farmers amounting to Rs 87,000 crore and self-help group women amounting to Rs 15,000 crore, besides loan waiver to the weavers’ community. However, after the elections, the party had removed the manifesto from the party website. The party had failed to fulfil the loan waiver to the farmers. He implemented just Rs 1.50 lakh loan waiver to every farmers leaving the rest to their fate, he said. He further said that the TDP government had completely ignored the loan waiver promised to the women and weavers.
On the contrary, the YSRCP had come up with two-page manifesto which is remembered by every party worker and the leaders, besides the people. We have promised Navarathnalu in the election manifesto, he said. He told the party rank and file to see for themselves that 99 per cent of the manifesto was implemented in the last five years.
He further said that 87 per cent houses have received some or the other benefit from the government. He wanted them to take the manifesto to every house and ask people whether everything that was promised during the last elections was fulfilled or not. He wanted the party leaders to ensure that people understood what an election manifesto of the party is.
The financial benefits given by the government were directly going into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, the chief minister said. He further added that there was no middlemen or brokers in between the government and the beneficiaries.
The pension had now become Rs 3,000, which was just Rs 1,000 at the time of last elections, the chief minister. The government is delivering the pension at the doorstep of the beneficiaries, he said. Every scheme is delivered at the doorstep of the people, removing the middlemen, he said.
The chief minister wanted every leader of the party to visit every house at the booth level. He wanted them to have a regular visit to every house for the next 40 days and ensure that people voted for the party in the coming elections. While stating that everyone is ready for the elections, he asserted that every booth level leader should also be ready for the elections, the chief minister said
