Kalyan Krishna Kurasala is an Indian film screenwriter and director known for his works primarily in Telugu cinema. He made his directorial debut and scored a hit with Soggade Chinni Naayana featuring Akkineni Nagarjuna in the lead role. His direction skills were well appreciated and he was given a chance once again by the same production house Annapurna Studios but this time to direct Naga Chaitanya. The film titled Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam went on to become one of the best films from Chaitanya’s career. Kalyan Krishna’s next film Nela Ticket featuring Ravi Teja in the lead role didn’t do well at the box office but he bounced back again with a prequel to the BlockBuster Soggade Chinni Naayana titled Bangarraju and scored a hit.
Despite scoring a hit through Bangarraju the director has been on the sidelines. Initially there were some rumors saying that Kalyan krishna has got the opportunity to direct Suriya but that didn’t materialize. After a while as per the reports, He is now gearing up to direct Megastar Chiranjeevi. Chiranjeevi’s elder daughter Sushmita Konidela along with her husband Vishnu Prasad will be the producers. This film was said to be Chiranjeevi’s 156th film and it would be the remake of Malayalam Super Hit movie Bro Daddy. After the failure of Bhola Shankar, Sources say that Chiranjeevi has decided not to attempt any remakes for a while and that being said Kalyan Krishna project was kept on hold. According to reports, Chiranjeevi’s 157th film directed by Vashishta will now become his 156th movie.
Can Kalyan Krishna get a go for the Chiranjeevi project or will he be sidelined. If the project won’t materialize what will Kalyan Krishna do? What are his next plans? We will have to wait and see.
