Gopichand’s Viswam managed to score a somewhat okay score in its ten-day run in the theaters. Released on October 11, 2024, the film opened to mixed reviews from audiences and critics. However, with the advantage of Dasara festival weekend, the action entertainer could bring some decent footfalls over its first weekend.
Though the numbers of the film saw a decline after the weekend, Viswam had an average box office performance overall. The film got benefited by the fact that there was no new movie released on its second weekend, and the distributors added several theaters to it. For 10 days, Viswam collected over 12 crore gross at the worldwide box office, and if it manages to add another 3-5 crore range gross from now on, it can be termed an above average grosser at the box office. Viswam needs to collect over 20 crore gross, but it looks tough to achieve it.
Though the film received mixed responses from the major movie websites and netizens, the common audiences were interested to see the film as it was publicized as the comeback of director Sreenu Vaitla. The brand image of the filmmaker worked in favor of the film, and a section of family audiences seems to have liked the film, which resulted in it getting reasonable collections at the box office.
